looooooong post, Keanu and Orli icons

I've just come from a fabulous extended weekend plus one class-less Monday. *super happy* dead_pen came from Bauru. ^_____^ I've stayed over at her home from Wednesday evening to Saturday morning *squishes*, during which we've talked, talked, talked, drawn (she conviced me to and I made the first ever Nightwing I found acceptable) and watched SW III together. Mostly we annoyed the people sitting next to us with a. squealing at Hayden and Ewan and b. she was explaining details and bits of the storyline to very ignorant me. We also started building her an on-line portfolio and among other things she drew this cuuuute, i-Pod-ish Jin Kazama. *luffs*

I have to say this post started when I watched Dangerous Liaisons on tv, a few weeks ago. Ever since, Keanu Reeves seems to be falling on my lap almost daily - as killthwight could see ;] *huggles* The man is everywhere!! At least all around me. He was in Much Ado About Nothing, on tv the other day.

*chuckles* My, my. I love Keanu, everybody knows I do. I think he's the purrfect man for the roles they have him in - fine examples being the Matrix trilogy, Devil's Advocate, My Own Private Idaho, etc etc. But that I love him doesn't mean I don't know he is.. let's say, not the most expressive young man. (as in, he seems to firmly believe that conveying emotion should be done by means of adding this little wrinkle between his eyebrows and narrowing his eyes).

It appears the opinion is quite popular, enough to warrant a counter-action by the fans who appreciate Keanu's talent. There is even defending_keanu, a LJ comm dedicated to defending Keanu from bashing. They say in the info that they feel offended Keanu is commonly pointed as an example of bad acting *snorts*

Thinking about the matter while scanning the net for pictures, I realised that what I love about Keanu are his hands, his voice and his eyes. Since he poked my aesthetical sense, thought I should make icons!

Also, recently afra_schatz posted some lovely Orli bases. I'd already fallen in love with him all over again during my visit to killthwight (I'm still gushing over that pic, dear!), and that post gave me ideas... and ideas became icons... *grins* Because him and Keanu are my two favourite inexpressive handsome men. I hope you like these!

On a different note, so it is that I've gotten myself into yet another cute little slashy pairing (and a new fandom too).

I've spent part of my day at ewan_hayden, sw_slash and similars... so you guess. Yup, Ani/Obi. I blame it partly on dead_pen, because she's the one who got me into SW in the first place. I fear for my sanity... I'm now irretrievably nerd.

I've yet to read anything I'm really in love with, but there is some nice fiction. Just need to find the right archives, I suppose. Ooooh wait, while putting this post together, a very interesting gem came up =]

The only reason I started to write Orlando is because I wanted Eric. *lol* That’s true!

during all the writing and discussing with afra_schatz I grew very fond of “my” Orlando and...yeah...somehow I accidentally fell in love with him. :)

I really like fandom!Orli. To be true, I haven't watched/read that many interviews so I don't know much about how he really is, but there are some people who can create an amazing character with him. You're one of them. And it really shows that you love him, because you seem to write him with (relative) ease and lots of tenderness.

By 'sharing Ewan-love' I meant, if you like Ewan too ^_____^ LOL the other day I was reading fanfic (totally random here) about Obi (Ewan) and Ani (Hayden, who's like, 1,80m tall) and someone described Obi-Wan as a "compact warrior". I laughed so much XD
I appreciate Ewan's acting skills, and my the man is gorgeous.

I’d make a picspam, but first of all, all I can do with my photoshop thingy are icons (veeeeery, very plain and simple icons), and I haven’t figured out how to work with photobucket.com. I’m such a jerk.

=p I've taken a LONG time to get used to photoshop... and there are features in it I'm sure I'll never know they exist. It's too much in one program and they're always releasing newer versions... but really, I think that the essential is what you already seem to have: good ideas for icons with the right pic and words that illustrate the feeling. The rest is practice! As for Photobucket, maybe you could ask Caro... I could try to guide you if you like, but as I'm not a native English speaker either (I'm Brazilian) I'm not sure I would use the right words, descriptions etc.

O-kay...Now I’m confused. The original trilogy means Han, Leia, Luke etc. right? And Qui-Gon Jin(n) (= Liam Neeson) was only in The Phantom Menace which had nothing to do with the original trilogy (well, not exactly nothing, but...you know.)...

Aw, thank you for the link! *saves it* I really like Rushlight's style, I've read a few things by her in the Harry Potter fandom. It's nice to find out that authors I love write fanfic for a fandom I'm joining ;]

*sighs* Thank you so much. But you can only say you like my Vig, because you haven’t read any other RPS’s of Caro and me. In these I don’t like my Vig myself - and, of course, that shows. :( But ‘Thanking the Cook’ was pretty okay, I guess. :)

*glomps you* THANK YOU!!! Hey, don’t flatter me so much! I’d only get vain. But...thank you nevertheless. *beams* Though I wouldn’t say I’m creating an amazing character with my fandom!Orli, yeah...He came pretty easily to me. – And nobody was more surprised than me, really. Because I, too, haven’t watched/read any Orlando interviews up until now. *lol* No kidding. I know so many Orlando fans out there, but somehow I’ve never been interested in Orlando himself. So I didn’t care. :) In LotR I had Vig (and sometimes Sean, too ;), in PotC it was definitely Jack Davenport, in Troy ERIC!!! Well...And then along came lovely little Caro (and later on KoH) and the rest is history, as they say. *g*

But I’ve always liked Orlando a lot. He seemed to be a very nice guy and looked not too bad either. *lol* And like I said, since I started writing with Caro my love and kinda ‘understanding’ for my various Orlando muses has grown. It still does. :) I think the easiest one to write for me is indeed Nightclub!Orlando. I love him to pieces, but Caro’s Eric makes writing very easy, too. He’s so wonderful. Ah...Let’s see...Student!Orlando is a little more difficult, but we get along well so far. :) And Blacksmith!Orlando...Well, let’s say I’m still trying to figure him out.

His eyes. With these eyes he got me from hello, really. And his voice. (And I might add that he has a wonderful ‘German’ voice, too, which is very good when you have to watch the dubbed versions of every movie. :) I don’t know why exactly, but the scene in SW II, when he goes to see Dexter Jettster (the restaurant alien), is always the death of me. I know there are better scenes, but I love him to pieces in that one.
