Finally a fandom-related post! :)

Recently I've hit the jackpot of Parker/Alec/Eliot fanfics: the OT3 tag at Archive of Our Own. Reading so many wonderful fanfics there motivated me to activate my own account, and I intend to repost everything I've ever written at AO3 under the many aliases I've used over my 12 years in fandom. Or as much of it as I can find online, given the many HD crashes and utter failure at making back-ups...

Anyway.

I can't thank irrlicht enough for introducing me to Leverage, because on top of being a brilliant show, it stirred my writing muses back to life. I can't express how much I'd missed the feeling of needing to write else I'd burst with the ideas, voices and plots. It's like a part of me that'd been numb for a very long while has suddenly recovered sensitivity, and I can experience the world properly again. *beams*

Well, that's a little better. But I still feel a punch would've been totally called for.

In reference to Fringe 3x07 Abducted:

So, I got a job last month. I was all excited because its within walking distance from classes, it's part-time and it's doing something I love, which I'd sort of lost hope would happen. A constant source of money was also something to squee about.

Well, I'm not so excited anymore, because my paycheck is LATE. It was due on the 6th, then it got postponed to today (20th), and now I've just looked up my bank account and... no deposit yet. What worries me the most, though, are the tales I've heard over coffee with coworkers, about people not getting paid for 3 months. Or how often people at the office pick up the phone to call someone and start with "well, I've checked my bank account and it's not there/not all of it is there yet".

I'm not a person who deals well with flexibility in that area. I'm an efficient and responsible worker and deliver the job but I expect the same courtesy from my employers.

Bastards. Screw you, Physics Institute! Screw you, state government! And most of all: screw you, insanely bureaucratic Human Resources!

I need to start looking for a new job. *fumes*

On the academic area things are much better. The magazine I co-edited is already online (it's in Portuguese but I've designed the cover, it's fun to look at if you feel like it; this number's theme was "writing to death"), so no more all-nighters for me. I presented my one-year research at an event so I consider that over and done with too at least until I start preparing my Master project properly, which I'm skilfully avoiding atm with the aid of tv shows. Now there's "only" regular coursework to bug me until the end of November, yay.

Does anybody know any websites where I can download Glee? Btjunkie, my usual fix, doesn't get the new eps soon enough.

It's been a long time since I've been as interested in a tv show as I am in Fringe.

And now I can only hope they'll continue the pop-culture tributes with a Michael Jackson episode. I'd join a facebook campaign for that :)

Lastly, House M. D. 7x02 "Selfish": much better than last week's. There was an actual patient with actual drama this time, and a lot more Wilson.

I hate livejournal

I wish I could quit it, but it's the only way to keep in touch with some of the people I care about, and to indulge in the fandomishness that is so important to me.

Still, all of it is so wrong. That absurd witch-hunt of last year, and now this ridiculous decision of not offering Basic accounts to those who want to start blogging here. What if tomorrow they decide that all basic accounts will be automatically switched to plus? Why the fuck don't they ever consult their users before taking decisions as drastic as this, ON A BLOODY USER-GENERATED CONTET WEBSITE?! Don't they realise that they're absolutely nothing without the people here?

I wish fandom could unite and move out of here.

They're so absolutely full of shit and completely disrespectful towards their users. It's a pity one can't sue somebody for being a complete asshole. I can only hope they get screwed by drastic, not forewarned changes by their bank managers or something. Bastards. >.
