lilith_lilium* On the 26th I went down to Florianópolis to spend the week and the New Year's Eve. It was... brilliant. The place is breath-taking, marvellous beaches, incredible food. The hotel was very very good and I made great friends there; hope I'll be keeping them! I'll post later with pictures... on the morning of January 2nd, we drove to Curitiba to stay at my uncle's - plenty of rest and LOTS of food. I had a great time. I'll post tomorrow maybe with pictures... should be leaving on Saturday, early morning, to the beach again.
To kill the time today while I waited for my internet conection to be arsed to work, I've made a few LotR icons. The ones featuring Miranda were made out of these bases byjustinetre; thanks, sweetie! I hope you like the makeup I've given your babies!!! The Éomer, Legolas and Orli ones were born out of RotK EE & extras caps by my dear perseph2hades.

I'm almost sorry that I posted the prologue of Alabaster-Carved Galatea atlucifersdragon, and that's because, as much as I love that story and my ongoing Green Mirrors, I haven't written a single word since Christmas and I don't think I will, at least until after Carnival or so. Which is in February. I'm sorry. ...well, although, I've had an injection of wounded pride lately, so maybe I will write after all. *shrugs*
I'd like to take this moment to thank everyone who replied to my last post *huggles* I read your comments on the 27th and you have no idea how much they improved my trip, and helped me relax and enjoy myself without feeling so guilty. You're all precious and I know I've been posting and posting and neglecting comments, and I'm sorry. Tomorrow is catching-up, as I promisedsm_malfoy. If you've got anything you want my opinion on, leave a poking comment!!!! =D

Anyway, it’s absolutely lovely seeing you here. I’m thrilled to know you’re having such a great time. And I’m equally thrilled that you had the time to turn out more lovely icons! ::rubs hands gleefully:: Have more to add to my collection. (And since I recently purchased extra userpics, I might actually get around to using them! LOL.)
Here are the ones I’ve nabbed and some accompanying commentary:
#1 – Heavens, you know how much I love Eomer, right? This is gorgeous, especially the text because I do think of the Horse Lord as an intensely private person who needs to be drawn out. (And who better to do that than Legolas? I’ll be putting up “Riding Lessons” soon. I swear. I think you might like it.)
#3 – This icon had me laughing out loud, and I’m an Arwen fan too! (Book-Arwen, I mean.) Besides, Liv simply couldn’t compete on the day. Legolas left her in the dust in the radiance department. ::snicker::
#5 – All the Miranda Otto icons are divine. I’m a big fan of hers and #5 is my favorite among the lot. The text has a lot to do with it. The word ‘want’ so perfectly fits the desire in her eyes. And she’s the kind of chick who looks like she always gets what she wants.
#7 – I have this photo of Miranda too. Again, it’s the accompanying text that works so well. I’ll probably use this one over on

Legolas isn't tiring or demanding company, he's a fine conversationalist and his presence is smooth, so I do think he'd drawn our dear Horse Lord out of his shell.

=) The Miranda icons have lots of love and entertainment in their make; I sit and look at the picture until it whispers something, then I type it in. Mir is so very expressive, and a gorgeous woman, she's a pleasure to work with.

Yes, I remember this conversation. Oh, I m not so hard on myself. Writing is relatively easy for me, when I m inspired and have the time. (I have neither atm, but what else is new? :p)

Good question. I guess it s because I think of the series is a bunch of fragments rather than the regular prose narrative I m used to writing. Prose narrative seems more . . . substantial. Also, the series is so personal that it s almost a form of journalizing. (Actually, did you know that journalizing now could fall into the category of creative non-fiction?) Bottom line, it doesn t feel like fiction to me going by my standard definition.

Well, it s not too late is it? I mean, I m sure said friend would still appreciate it. In fact, it would be even more unexpected now. You could even call the fic Sketches if it a series of sketches detailing the brothers relationship. (This is so ALD. ::grin::)

I hope it does get there, because it's such a great film.
I have no doubt! I m such a huge Mike Nichols fan. His films always feel very intimate, very gritty and real. And he really specializes in dissecting human relationships.
