Updating twice a day and writing lots? Go me!! =) This afternoon, after sunbathing in my yard - summer in Brasil! - I've written and polished some of the chapters of this longish H/D I'm working at. I'm delighted it seems to be uncurling from the depths of my mind and stirring into some stretching, at long last. I've been writing its first sketches since April.

Tonight I've gaped in awe at the Depp-Burton partnership. Those two gentlemen always make such wonderful work together. So I picked my favourite film and squealed in anticipation of their piece-to-come!

note to self: MUST finish watching Ed Wood.

(25/out/07)EDIT: because I no longer trust LJ with my material, I've moved the four Edward Scissorhands and four Charlie and the Chocolate Factory icons to IJ.

Are you wondering where I got that nifty font with a tophat like Wonka's? Well, I happened to bypass Tim Burton Collective, a wonderful website. On my quest for Depp pics I also found this marvellous doodle of Burton's, representing Ed Scissorhands:

I really can't wait until the film comes out. *squirms* The pics that generated these bases have been shared with the much talented [livejournal.com profile] nohumangrace (along with some mildly demented conversation, LOL); maybe we'll be lucky to see icons by her soon? ;)

I'm halfway through One Hundred Years of Solitude; I'm trying to make it a lengthy, leisurely read. It's a magnificent book, I'm in love. I've got one book by Stendhal next on my list, but I really am clueless as to the title in English, sorry. *goes off to sleep*

Wheeee! Reading, writing and making icons?? Go you!!

The icons look great, as always. I especially like 3 and 7 XD

Ohhhh, I'm so glad you're enjoying the book!! It's positively brilliant. I love Marquez's style, and the whole story is wonderful.

*smiles* I've become productive at long last. I'd been stuck in reading for too long, time to spill something out...

=) I'm glad you like them!! I can't pick favourites... but I'm really fond of #1, for some reason. It's the only one not featuring Depp, how demented does that make me?

Well, I am not as prolific icon-maker as you are (and I still say you are far better with text and this batch of icons just proves it, so there!), but I've managed to turn out a grand total of... two.

Voila. :oP

I think I'm good with text because I'm by far more acquainted with writing than image-work. *muses* But I do adore the icons you make, they're expressive and you let the picture speak for you. These are incredible! Ed's so huggable, non?
except for the back-pat equals murder part..

Charlie&Choc Factory icons

I'm very tempted. Must find a copy of the book and re-read it while I wait.

thanks for pointing me to the fic, I loved it!!! *grins*

the e-mail bounced right back.. I'm considering archiving it anyway and leaving a note, for if Armand ever finds my site and wishes his fic taken off, he'll just e-mail me. I really like that fic.

The icons are amazing as always. I hate that I’ve only seen them now. ::sniff::

May I add Willy No. 2 to my collection? It’s my favorite among the lot. I love how you wrote the “A” for anticipation because I can safely say that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is, without doubt, my most highly anticipated film for next year. Like you, I’m an immense fan of the Burton-Depp partnership. They simply never go wrong. I’m still debating whether or not I can afford the Ed Wood Special Edition DVD, which I’ll have to order from Amazon. Shame on you for not yet finishing that flick. I honestly believe it’s Burton’s finest work, and certainly the finest piece to come out of the aforementioned partnership.

That book was required reading when I was an undergrad, and justly so. If you haven’t already read it, I also recommend Love in the Time of Cholera, which has to be my favorite Marquez novel. I’m thinking of teaching it next year.

I’ve got one book by Stendhal next on my list, but I really am clueless as to the title in English, sorry.

I have Stendhal on my list as well. Would this be Scarlet and Black, sometimes translated as The Red and the Black? That’s the one on my list. I think it’s supposed to be his most famous work so it seems like a good place to start.

*hugs* no worries. The important thing is, you did see them! =D

sure, go ahead, I'm honoured!

Oh, Special Editions are evil. They're expensive but so full of goodies, they're little flat discs of temptation. I'll have to finish watching it. I really want to. I believe I'll have time during the vacations... gods, Depp lost like 20 years in becoming Wonka! I can't believe in the texture of his skin.

If you haven’t already read it, I also recommend Love in the Time of Cholera, which has to be my favorite Marquez novel. I’m thinking of teaching it next year.

*takes note* Thanks for the advice!!! I fell in love with his style. It's.. gripping, smooth all in one. My heart goes out to all the characters, they're so palpably human.

I've got The Charterhouse of Parma by Stendhal on my list. I really don't know what to expect from this one, and I'm happy. =)
