Shiny new post, so that I can poke people into noticing my shiny new layout with the first header I've ever completed (because I tried before but never liked it enough to go through with it...). It's not perfect but... I like it, I guess. It's all greenish & yellowish, colours for Brazil and my two favourite colours, incidentally. It features Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen and lyrics to Speed of Sound by Coldplay, which doesn't really have much to do with anything but has been etched to my mind for days. I like quite a few of the sentences, so ;]

As for the rest of the layout, well, it's very Slytherinish green. I'm still having trouble positioning the content boxes and the f-page is something of a mess, but the colours are mostly settled. May I ask how do you like it?

On another note... I keep babbling about my newfound love for sw_slash. On the past few days I've gathered a few links to material (fanfics, graphics etc) that I love; now is time to share! I have also made a few icons ;] Updated Kaleidoscope today with 55 Keanu+Orli+Obi/Ani icons.

Yes, the same Emma Grant from "Left my Heart", one of my favourite pieces of H/D. She strikes with Obi/Ani that is sweet and charged with UST *licks lips*

Summary: (made up too) Anakin confronts Obi-Wan's passiveness before life.

This one is somewhat depressing, in that.. *sighs* well, everyone's feelings seem to remain unrequited.

Becoming(Everything I Need)

Summary: This is a 'how it all began' fic, set on an indeterminate ship in an unnamed portion of the galaxy some time between AotC and RotS. Obi Wan is angry with Anakin, and Anakin knows.

For this one, I'll just quote:

"I was thinking about how you, who are so adept at the science of emotions that you could probably read the mind of a rock, never know what I want, what I need, or what I'm thinking about. You try me, Master. I was thinking about what I could do to make you understand, and my question has been answered. Now I know."

And Anakin walked away.

That's not the end, mind you ;] it's a very cute, interesting ficlet.

Summary: He knows he should say no, but he doesn't. Yet, he doesn't say yes either. And he can't admit why.

This fic is breath-taking, not only because of the delicious smut but the sheer intensity of it. Ani and Obi have their own special ways to deal with emotion and affection, their interaction is special and intriguing and this author has captured that. I most definitely recommend this fic as one of the most beautiful Obi-Wan/Anakin pieces I have ever read. The style is magnificent, the characterisations are superb and the story is very touching.

This is a fic I really, really like. It's very sweet and shows the tenderness of obi-Wan, how he quietly cares for Ani. Anakin may live his emotions thoroughly but he tends to keep to himself what he thinks would make him seem weak - and it's positively heart-wrenching to see Obi's concern duel with his respect for Anakin's privacy. I'm deeply in love with this piece.

No summary was provided. This fic is slightly disturbing but I like it. I like how the author weaves Ewan's considerations in the plot, and how much it feels like living.

As you can see, I’m a little short of time myself, so I understand completely. Don’t worry. :) afra_schatz and me, we have a new beta for our Nightclub story (or better stories), so I think I’ll be busy the next few days. But, of course, I don’t mind. That means that we’ll probably be able to post the next part sometime before Christmas. :D

Just got your e-mail. LOL we have _very_ similar taste for pictures! I have some of the ones you sent me saved on my pc already - the first Eric one, the Balian Orli one, the BW of Boromir, the Aragorn one, the second Obi one and the Ewan in Kilt one *chuckles* that one is just too good to miss, isn't it? I'll try to make your header all multi-flavoured, with as many pics as you can. Is it ok if it comes out looking somewhat like my own? Or you can point me to some headers you like.. I'm not too experienced with them, so I like having examples. And you're a Leto fan as well!! I have this absolutely dazzling picture of him with an elephant. He's so gorgeous.

I can't wait to read more of Nightclub. I'm a great fan of that fic, it's excellent reading, well-written and just delicious, easy to read.

Somehow there are not many good Balian pics on the net. Or at least I couldn’t find them up until now. I liked this one best from the few I have. Boromir and Aragorn are pretty self-explanatory, aren’t they? *g* Erm...The second Obi one...Was it the one you’ve used for the beard icon? If so, it’s from the ‘Dexter Jettster scene’ of SW2. Whee! A fellow Jared Leto fan! I know the elephant pic (I think there are two or three different shots, but I know them all ;) and I have saved it already on my pc, but since I used it (well, one of the two or three) for my icon *points at said icon* I didn’t want it in my header, too. Yes, he does. He looks always stunning. :) And...I don’t know if you’ve been there before, but may I recommend this site (http://www.jared-leto.org/) to you? I think you still have to register, but it has a HUGE gallery!

And...There are some decent Balian shots. But only some. It’s sad, really. I hope the devoted fangirls with the right technical equipment are able to post lots of screencaps, once it’s out on DVD. :)

No, you are NOT a bad beta. I know, because you betaed for Caro and me. And I know that everybody (including myself) is very short of time, but that’s exactly why I ask every of my betas about ten times ‘Are you really sure you want to do it? Do you have the time? Isn’t it too tough to read?’ As you might have noticed, I’m pretty careful about not pestering anyone with anything. I really ask very often if there’s any problem. And even when they agreed I tell everybody that they can quit anytime and I won’t be angry. Because I won’t. I don’t set deadlines or such. But still they say everything’s fine, only to tell me three months later ‘sorry, I don’t have the time’. And this is what’s a tiny bit annoying.

And you’re very welcome about Shriney’s post. :) Glad you liked it. Her LJ in general is pretty interesting, especially for Orlando and Sean (not necessarily together) fans.

I won't say I don't get slightly annoyed at my betas taking ages to look at my fics, but hey, time's the new gold, and I never direct my grudge at the person, instead at the situation. And whilst I do understand that sometimes things unroll in a way that makes us learn we can't really do everything, I really do not enjoy giving things up, abandoning projects or such, especially if there are other people connected to them somehow. *sighs* Then again, that's just me. I guess both of us worry about people?

Eeek! See? I need a beta. Desperately. Seems I’m not able to post a statement without being mistaken. Sorry that that came across wrong. Of course I’m not angry at the beta!!! They all have real lives like me, and RL is always more important than anything on the internet! I’m indeed angry at the whole situation, because I’ve “lost” my last five betas that way. But that’s by no means a reproach for the beta readers, who were so kind to at least try to put Caro’s and my fics into some kind of order. I’m really grateful for all the effort they’ve put in that work so far and I hope they all know it.
