Hello =]
What have I been up to, lately? Gym, diet, uni work and reading like crazy. My eyes even hurt. I've been busy with many things, but managed to find the time to delight myself with The Plays of Oscar Wilde. I adore the man's writing, the way he words sentences, the characters he creates. I've read The Importance of Being Earnest, A woman of no importance and am halfway through Lady Windermere's fan. I find it fascinating how he inevitably weaves in the plot a character who can speak as eloquently as Wilde himself writes, and who shares his peculiar wit.
Other than that, I've just stopped by to say hello, hug you all and post five Louis, Lestat and Louie/Stat icons:
(25/out/07)EDIT: because I no longer trust LJ with my material, I've moved the five Vampire Chronicles icons.
There are certainly more to come, I've laid my hands on some fine picutres... I can't wait to see what you'll make of them,
phantomparadise! *beams*
I also wish to pass on an admirable iniciative I've seen at
sm_malfoy's journal:
Have You Left Your Comment Today?
anaid_rabbit and
wide_ocean decided to start a movement to leave more comments and thus brighten up more peoples' lives. Think about how nice it would be if everyone would pledge to leave at least one comment a day that they otherwise wouldn't have left - maybe on a post where they were afraid to say something, or just something nice on a completely random journal.
In short: Take the pledge with us. Leave at least one additional comment on someone's LJ each day, and make the world a better place. Spread the love!
And make sure to post this last bit on your own journal, so that the love may indeed spread.
I love the idea; it's so wonderful coming home to an inbox full of tenderness and warmth.
*huggles lots*

Mini-rant: Stuart Townsend SUCKS as Lestat!

Date: 2005-03-13 03:21 pm (UTC)So, you’re going through an Oscar Wilde phase too? Your timing is remarkable. My own drama phase right now is Shakespeare, comedies to be precise, but just today I had a burning desire to watch the film adaptation of The Importance of Being Earnest, and I promptly disregarded my pile of work and popped the DVD in the player. Have you seen it? It’s a wonderful adaptation starring Colin Firth, Rupert Everett, Frances O’Connor, Reese Witherspoon and Dame Judi Dench. Really marvelous. I highly recommend it.
Moving on, I was so pleased to see the Vampire Chronicles icons! ::huggles, huggles,:: Once upon a time I was an enormous VC fan and considered writing fanfiction, but Anne Rice is quite scary when it comes to that department. All the icons are beautiful and they capture the mood and feel of the film/series perfectly. I’ve saved #2 and #3. They’re both priceless. I’m not sure on which journal I’ll use them, but I’m sure to use them sooner or later. (Since that icon representation post, I’ve given the whole process even more thought. ::shakes head::)
And that’s it from me!
For now. ::wink::
